1. What does being a Leader mean to you?
Being a Leader means showing up for my team, lifting up others, supporting them through their struggles, contributing my strengths, working hard to keep improving, and encouraging my team to show up as their best selves every day.
2. What’s your favorite part of being a leader?
My favorite part of being a leader is inspiring, encouraging and supporting my team, leading by example by showing up and working hard, and lifting others up when they feel discouraged. I really enjoy spending time together on the court.

3. How has EMA helped you become the leader you are today?
I have learned so much from the wisdom of Coach Gumbs. I went through struggles early on but he, Coach Henry and the other EMA Coaches never gave up on me.
This helped me learn to lead myself first, and now I can help lead others.
4. What’s the best thing you’ve learned at EMA?
The best thing I’ve learned at EMA is that we’re not just there for ourselves, we are there for each other and our team, and when we play for each other we can make each other better. I’ve learned to take responsibility and own my choices, no excuses!
5. How do you show up as a leader on and off the court?
I show up as a leader on and off the court by helping people, leading by example on the court and at school, keeping a positive attitude, working hard and expecting the best effort from everyone, starting with myself.
6. Who are some leaders that you look up to and why?
MLK Jr. because he stood up for people and what he believed. He showed courage, bravery, and grit. Also Kobe Bryant, because of his work ethic. He worked harder every day to be the best he could be, and never settled for less than 100% every day.
7. Define EMA with one sentence.
EMA is a place you can develop skills for the next level, where everyone works together not just as a team, but a family lifting each other up.
