We are filled with gratitude after an unforgettable evening at the inaugural Bill Russell Impact Classic hosted by the University of San Francisco.
Held on what would have been the 92nd birthday of the legendary Bill Russell, the night was more than a basketball game – it was a powerful celebration of legacy, leadership, and impact. Seventy years after leading the Dons to back-to-back NCAA championships, his influence continues to echo far beyond the court. The unveiling of “The Bill Russell Way” on campus made the evening even more meaningful.
Empower ME Academy was deeply honored to hold a halftime scrimmage during such a historic event. To have our Team LEADERS step onto the court in an arena that celebrates excellence, character, and social impact was truly special. Moments like these remind our student-leaders that they are part of something bigger – a community that believes in their potential.
Our relationship with USF makes the night even more personal. With our CEO proudly counting himself among the program’s alumni, this partnership represents the power of sport and the importance of staying connected to the communities that help shape us.
We are thankful to USF MBB for creating space for our youth, for honoring a legend whose life exemplified courage and service, and for reminding us all that the true measure of success is the impact we leave on others.
Here’s to legacy. Here’s to opportunity. And here’s to continuing to empower others.
